Love my Tamagotchi
I haven’t had one since the very first Tamagotchi back in the 90’s. I asked a friend which type I should get since I wanted to get a new one for fun, and she recommended the Smart. I have to say I love it. It’s rechargeable, which is fantastic. You don’t have to worry about changing out batteries! It’s super cute, and the little games you play to earn the “coins” are really fun, not complicated or frustrating. I feel like the Tama is pretty easy to care for, so far I haven’t even made it unhappy. Be aware it is in Japanese, but there are guides online that show you what the menu prompts (and instruction book) are in English if you need that (I recommend looking those up before you buy one to see if they will work for you, that’s what I did), and most of it is pretty intuitive. I also like that you can get the Tamasama cards and add characters and items and things. Overall I am extremely happy with this and have to say I think I’m addicted to Tamagotchi now!

I bought this product after reading a bunch of reviews and watching youtube videos about it, so overall it exceeds my expectations and I’m super happy. Here are some of my thoughts:1) Wearing it like a watch: it is quite bulky as many people say, and I do feel self-conscious wearing it outside. I like to wear it early in the morning when there aren’t a lot of people around and take a walk, and it feels like I’m taking an actual pet on a walk, which is great.2) As another review mentioned, my device’s mic function didn’t work either. It’s not a huge loss, and you can still select the option to talk to your tama, but the mic icon will not turn from blue to red, as it is supposed to do when the device picks up the sound.3) It is definitely a plus to know some Japanese (although I think it’s optional!). I would highly recommend it to Japanese learners as a fun way to practice the language! The font size is a little small and sometimes it goes to the next phrase before you can read the entire thing, but everything is in hiragana and katakana (no kanji), which is great.4) Games: the ones that involve shaking your arm or hand (games #2 and #4) are super fun and easy, and it’s a nice change from the usual tamagotchi games which require you to pay close attention to tiny things happening on the screen. Game #1 needs a bit more concentration, but it’s still very doable and fun. Game #3 was very difficult for me until I learned that I just need to tap, not swipe — after that it’s still difficult, but a bit more doable.5) Care level: it’s definitely a bit on the high side (especially at the baby stage, which is only about an hour or so), but after the baby stage you can have your tama keep watch at home (rusuban) from 7am to 5:59pm.Also, I found a video showing how to turn the device off, by pressing the reset button and the home button at the same time for 5 seconds or so. I haven’t tried this yet, but it’s a relief to know it’s an option.6) Charging: I saw this in a youtube video, but I’ll put it here also in case anyone misses it — apparently you’re only supposed to charge the device from a laptop (using the included cable), and should never be plugged into a wall AC outlet (unless you are using one of the specified adapters in the full manual). Also, it usually finishes charging in about 1-1.5 hours, so it’s important to take the USB cable out when it’s finished and not to leave it charging for more than 2 hours.

I absolutely love this thing. Well worth the money. I did end up having to return the first one I got because there was a big circle in the middle of the screen. Almost like the battery expanded or something. But thankfully I got it replaced.Love that you can re charge it. Be careful with charging though, only charge through a gaming console usb or a laptop because you will fry the battery if plugged into the wall. I’ve been charging mine on my Nintendo switch charging dock on one of the usb ports.You do not need to know Japanese to play it, just watch a few YouTube videos on where stuff is and you’ll get the hang of it fast. I know I did. I don’t know a lick of Japanese but I can navigate through it pretty fast, not that it’s hard to do or anything.I did end up ordering a few tamasma cards through Japan amazon just so I had more variety. It seems like amazon Japan has more stuff than the US when it comes to tamagotchi stuff.Overall I’m super happy with my purchase and even ordered the niziu version also from Amazon japan

Awesome, But Def Look Up a Turotial
I love this watch and use it daily! I would say to look up a tutorial on what everything means since it is all in Japanese. The screen controls are also kind of hard to use but once you get used to it it’s okay. The only thing is I bought it in the coral pink, but received it in the mint blue. Idrc though because I liked the blue better and only selected pink bc it was cheaper at the time :p

The tomagotchi smart is a neat little device. My product only knew japanese which i figured would be more of an obstacle to tackle than it was. It has lots of visuals so you don’t really need to read it to know what’s going on. It’s really cute and a good idea to gift to a child or if your a teen girl who likes sanrio or cutesy things, I recommend it

I love it! I bough this one and the Tamagotchi Pix and I love both, but you have more game options on this one! I am still discovering more things about it lol but so far so good.The only thing is that’s it’s in Japanese, yeah you CANT change it! But there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube that can help with that. The screen is also pretty small for a screen touch tamagotchi so maybe that’s something that can get fixed in the design in the future.And also, my tamagotchi came broken, it’s not that much you can barely notice it but apparently it’s not the first time it came with that broken piece.I give it a 4/5! ✨

Compré 2 para mis hijas y los 2 resultaron defectuosos. A uno no le funciona la pantalla (se pone negra de la nada) al segundo no le funciona la batería (solo se puede cargar apagandolo por completo). Revisando en foros y otras fuentes he encontrado que son problemas muy comunes y que el control de calidad en estos tamagotchis es pésimo, lo cual puedo confirmar al 100%.No gastes tu dinero en este producto, de verdad hay una altísima probabilidad de que no funcione.

Really fun, simple and an upgrade from older models! I was very excited to receive it but was let down when I noticed that the product itself was defective. The screen of the LCD wasn’t installed properly and was improperly sealed. There were several large air pockets on all sides of the LCD screen itself that was very obviously a quality control issue. Moreover, there is light leakage from the device, a common issue observed by other users as well. If you love tamagotchi, it is definitely a good purchase but buy with a wary heart or you might be hurt if your device comes defective just like mine 🙁

As this device was only made available in Japan, there is no English language version, there are translated instructions available online though.That being said, the kids love it and have figured out its use all on their own, and given the rarity in the UK it has made their Christmas.
