Great for bigger kids and adults who love Harry Potter
I like this product—it’s simple and almost feels like an idle game that can keep you company. I’d recommend it to adults who love Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts, as it’s a great companion for a busy lifestyle. However, I probably wouldn’t recommend it for younger kids. The device is very small, and I don’t think it’s ideal for their eyes. For children, I’d suggest a full-size Tamagotchi instead, as it offers more activities and engagement.

So much better than the other nanos!
So first of all, I’d like to start off, yes. It’s really small. Hence why it’s called a NANO. It’s not as in depth as all the other tamagotchis. I’m not sure why people are giving this a low rating because of that. People need to learn how to read before they buy stuff. But I give this a 5 star because it is so much more in depth compared to all the other tamagotchi nanos I have. Ive been playing it for a day so far and it’s actually really fun, if you have a nano you know how little there is to do on them. But that’s what’s nice about them. I love Harry Potter so obviously I had to get it. And I’m about to buy the blue one too.You start off with either Harry Potter castle that you have to study at and play games and depending on all you do will determine the animal you get. I ended up getting the phoenix.Or you can get fantastic beast suitcase and you have to take care of the “animals in it” and obviously depending on what you do determines what animal you get.So you don’t get the animal right away. You will get it in 3 hours depending on the care. It’s a nano so don’t expect too much from it. Hence the small size and price tag. But it’s well worth it. Super cute. Especially if you love Harry Potter and fantastic beasts.Don’t listen to the negative reviews. They obviously don’t know what they’re talking about.

It’s a NANO with advantages over other Nanos
Before you buy, understand that it’s a Tamagotchi Nano, which are supposed to be more low-maintenance than traditional Tamagotchis. The plus side of this is that you don’t have to worry so much about your pet dying of neglect while you’re at school (or work, for those of us who never outgrew Tamagotchis).First off, I think the shells are gorgeous, and I’m really impressed with the wide range of characters you can get. There are like 12 for each mode, so 24 in total. The other thing I like is that after 3 days, you can choose to keep your character or let it “fly away” so you can raise another one. This is great if you’re mainly playing to see all the characters, which I am. I have some other Nanos where the characters take forever to die or run away or whatever, but with the Harry Potter Tamagotchi Nano you can see a lot more characters before you have to replace the battery.I also appreciate that there are four different games you can play, and they’re all pretty fun. One of them is absurdly easy, but the others are a little more of a challenge so that keeps it interesting. The other thing I love about this Tamagotchi is the animations that play every few hours throughout the day. Sometimes there’s a big scary dragon, and sometimes an adorable cat chases a mouse across the screen (I adore this one, and just watch it do its thing for as long as I can). All in all, they really packed this Nano with features. It doesn’t need as much attention as a regular Tamagotchi but it’s much more fun than my other Nanos.

Love it
I’m not really sure what people were expecting. Yes, it is small, but it’s called a Tamagotchi NANO. That means smaller than an original size. It’s small and cute. The buttons take some getting used to but it’s not that difficult. This NANO had more going for it than Original. There are 4 mini games. You can get 24 different characters. There are so many animations of magical creatures and Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts characters. People giving this product low rating due to the size aren’t taking account of how there’s more to do. Also, it’s way easier to take care of these creatures. It’s not like a regular Tamagotchi where you have to monitor it all day. I left mine alone for12 hours and it was still fine. Regular Tamagotchi give you the business for neglecting them for so long. All of the different animations are great. A great addition to any Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts collection. Also, did I mention it has a new animation every hour?

Not as good as expected.
Update: The A button began to stick and then stopped working and causing the entire toy to be unusable. The entire time i used it i was never able to choose the magical animal. And i was given a rat several times, a thestral once, and a bowtruckle once, and thats it. I gave lots of attention thinking i might get a better creature the next round, nope another rat.Original review: Its really cute but the whole thing is so tiny its hard to hold and the buttons are so close together and small that you accidently hit two at once a lot. Because the screen is so small its hard to see what your doing.I think had this been in a bigger (like the size of the original tamagotchi) it would have made this so much better. The mini games are cute and the selection of beasts to is excellent (maybe?). The graphics are better than i thought they would be.

As a fanatic harry potter collector ai just had to have one. The battery life is great. It was fairly expensive and the games aren’t very fun but I mean it works and is a functional toy. I think my only complaint ( or shall ai say my husbands) is that the device constantly beeps. So thanks to my husband I’m always finding it hidden in my tea pot lol
